Jorge Pérez Burgueño
Predoctoral Researcher (UCLM)
About Me
I am Jorge Pérez Burgueño, a predoctoral researcher at the University of Castilla-La Mancha and a member of the CONFLUENCIAS research group. My work falls within the field of Cultural and Contemporary History, with particular attention to areas such as social history, the history of the Franco regime, travel writing, tourism during the dictatorship, and the history of photography. In my doctoral thesis I analyze how foreign travelers constructed the image of Spain during the Franco regime through texts, photographs, and ephemeral materials, combining historical analysis, discursive approaches, and quantitative methods applied to visual culture.
I have taken part in national and international conferences and seminars, and I have experience in organizing academic activities and in producing digital content, as well as in applying artificial intelligence tools to the analysis of visual and textual sources within the humanities. My profile is complemented by official qualifications as a Secondary Education teacher and as a tour guide, which broaden my experience in outreach, teaching, and heritage interpretation.
